I have always been interested in the relationship between art and the mind. The perceptual experience, or maybe the ‘spiritual’ experience for some. A simple example could be imagining sitting on the beach, looking at the horizon and experiencing a sunset. It’s like you are aware of the presence of more realities. At the time of that experience you ‘could’ tell yourself what reality or state of affairs is being disclosed to you, or this realisation may come after the experience. This is what makes this experience mystical. What knowledge you apprehend from that experience and to what extend this knowledge is coming from that experience of your inner beliefs. An interesting question for looking at art is “Is the experience introversive or extroversive”? In regards to this painting we see 3 bright yellow circles, they are strong, bright and powerful, those alone give a sensory reaction, they are overlapped by a pattern of red dots, but there is an intersection present.
